Meet Your Wine Country Writing Team

Storyteller. Daydreamer. Cookie baker. Aimee lives in Santa Rosa with her husband and their two daughters, ages 2.5 years and 2 months. An Oregon native, she’s called the North Bay home for more than decade. She spends her time putzing in the kitchen, hiking and attending tea parties hosted by her toddler. She also works in marketing communications in the wine industry. Aimee is always hungry.

Aletta was born in Texas, but moved to Marin when she was two and considers herself a Bay Area native. She and her husband Pedro now spend their days wrangling their four awesome kids, Taryn (2006), Zoraya (2008), Eliana (2013) and Renzo (2015) in the house they bought in 2010 and renovated themselves, in Petaluma. As a full-time working mom, Aletta has intimate knowledge of the sacrifices that moms make to balance work and home life, and has made it her personal mission to normalize the struggles and redemption of motherhood, and battle shame.

Alyson is a Sonoma County native. Though born and raised in wine country, Alyson is more likely to be spotted in a local coffee shop than a winery. A glass of White Zinfadel or Moscato is always a welcome treat however, after a long and exhausting day with her three year old daughter! Alyson lives in Santa Rosa with her Fiance, and their blended family of six. Alyson enjoys unwinding from her many mom-duties through painting, reading, hiking with Liz her best friend of 25 years, and blogging about life’s many topics ranging from humor to battling depression on her blog.

Mama to three active kids, wife to the tallest man she knows, and caretaker to many furry family members, Anna thrives on the chaos of a full house. Born and raised in Northern California, Anna took a brief hiatus from wine country and set off on her college adventure at Arizona State University. Graduating with a B.A in psychology and a minor in family studies, Anna has put her studies to use distributing free advice to anyone who is willing to listen. She’s a self-proclaimed book nerd, wannabe runner, and avid coffee drinker who likes to work hard and play even harder.

Cat is a wife, mom of two beautiful daughters, and a Sonoma County physician. She grew up in Petaluma and recently moved back to the area with her family. She loves exploring Sonoma, Napa, and Marin Counties and enjoys watching her family fall in love with this area too. You’ll find her at farmer’s markets, art and music festivals, local coffee shops, or the Target dollar section. She inherited her sense of style from her mom (another physician mommy!). When she’s not balancing her life as a doctor and as a mom of 2, she writes about her love of good deals and budget-friendly style on her blog.

Clémence is a French expat that moved to California in 2007. She is a mother of a wonderful two year old boy and expecting a baby girl in March ’17. She resides in Santa Rosa and teaches 2nd grade at the Santa Rosa French American Charter School.  Clémence moved to Santa Rosa in 2007 to be with her now husband, then in 2009 relocated to San Diego to go to SDSU. Having spent two years in a big city, she knew that Sonoma County was the place for her as it is so similar to the Bordeaux region where she grew up. As if a full time teacher and mother isn’t enough, Clémence likes to spend the free time she does have on arts/crafts, reading, and cooking up some delicious French cuisine!

Crista is a wine country marketing professional who happily practices what she preaches: drinking well-made wine. Living in Sonoma with her dashing husband and sweet 7 year old son is right where she wants to be. After 17 years with her husband she is delighted to still be learning new things about him. With a joy for life and a deep sense of compassion for others she strives daily to bring joy to others and is a strong believer in equality for all. Family and friends is what she lives for, annual vacations to sunny beaches is what she works for.

Born in Mexico City, Daniela’s parents migrated to the United States when she was five and for some lucky reason, Sonoma was where they landed. She considers herself a Mexico-born Sonoma native. During her early college years, she made the long trek to Cotati… but didn’t stay too long. Now back in Sonoma, she is living with her partner (a Sonoma native too), their one year old daughter and black cat. She works full time at a foster family agency in Santa Rosa, and is working on her hours to be a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW).

Jessica is the mom of a wild and crazy three year old dancing queen, who is the absolute love of her life. She works full time in outside sales and can often be spotted at the airport, heading to or coming back from one of the many states she covers. She credits Facetime as one of the decade’s best innovations, finds wine-time a necessity and is guilty of tap dancing when happy.

Jessie is a stay at home mama in Healdsburg, California and loves what she does. She has two young boys, two years apart, and is married to Ray: her perfect counter-balance. She enjoys learning how to incorporate easy ways to move more and move better every day. Jessie walks as much as she can and tries to get her boys out walking too (which is much like pulling teeth from a hyper puppy). Armed with an increasing knowledge base about nutrition, movement, and alignment, she thrives on inspiration and continuously aspires to be a better version of herself both physically and spiritually.

Julia is a southern California transplant with 13 years of wine country experience. She and her husband, Jason, enjoy living in east Santa Rosa with their two sons and one daughter. You can often find Julia at middle school; she’s an eighth grade teacher who hates grading papers as much as her students hate writing them. She is a fabric hoarder, self-taught sewer, coffee consumer, wannabe photographer and minivan selfie fanatic.

Kate is a mama, a wife, a lover of life, a wanderer and a wonderer. She was born and raised in Sonoma County but currently lives in San Diego. When she isn’t daydreaming about moving back to Sonoma County to spend time with the three generations of her family who live there, she enjoys reading, reveling in the outdoors, seeing life through her son’s eyes, and finding excuses to eat delicious food and celebrate life’s simple joyful moments.

Katie is a native Sonoman and a proud SVHS alumnae – go Dragons! After running away to Los Angeles for 10 years she came to her senses and home to her roots, bringing with her a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Psychology, a lifetime of student debt, and an east-coast born Fiancé. She and her now husband are living the dream in Windsor with their sassy, but sugar sweet, 3.5 year old daughter and their #teamnosleep 14 month old son. When she’s not feeding the toddler, arguing with the preschooler, or trying to get her tiny humans to nap, she can be found honing her graphic design skills, crocheting, selling LuLaRoe, or obsessing over Game of Thrones.

Lindsey G

lindsey (1)

As a native Texan, Lindsey thrives on the warm, personal relationships she has built during the nearly 13 years she’s lived in Northern California. At first sight she fell in love with San Francisco and never looked back – meeting her husband within months of moving to the area. Lindsey and her (Sonoma County native) husband made the move from the city to buy their first home in Petaluma when their oldest son (now 7) was just shy of 3 months old. Just over a year later they added 2 more sons (twins!) and made the move to Cotati in 2014.

Lindsey T.

Lindsey is a second generation Santa Rosa native, stay at home mom to two rowdy boys and photographer.  When she’s not busy with squirt gun fights and lego building, Lindsey loves to enjoy the sunset and have a glass of Sauvignion Blanc.  In her spare time (but let’s be honest, there’s not much of that), she enjoys checking out the local thrift stores for projects to up-cycle, photography props and “old junk” as her husband refers to it.

Lucema is a transplant from Contra Costa County, but planted roots in the Napa Valley in 2010. She is a mom of two wild boys (3 and 1.5) who keep her happy, exhausted, and young (although the gray hair is coming in like a freight train). She is married to her favorite man, who makes her smile (15 years later) and who will make her a mean margarita on any given night. She speaks sarcasm fluently and makes up funny lyrics (sometimes inappropriate) to songs playing on her Pandora station. She loves the elderly population and hopes one day to work in the aging sector. For now she is a (proud) stay at home mom and you will often find her pushing her green double stroller, either singing, talking or laughing with her boys. If you see her smile, wave, or stop to chat, she loves to talk.

Mom of 2, born and raised in Napa, CA. Lives and works in Calistoga as the Assistant Wine Club Manager at a winery. Loves camping, roller coasters, and her football team.

Parmeeta is a Realtor and Personal Assistant to a now 4 year old who swings from saying “I’m so proud of you mommy” to “mommy you’re being so inappropriate!” Thankfully her clients are not as harsh in their feedback. When she is not working or pretending to be a superhero with her son you can find her enjoying her caffeine while reading a book or trying a new spa gadget (lavender rice pillow anyone?) The simple pleasures are the best!

Stay at home mom/boss of two Lego loving boys. Animal wrangler. Happy wife to my very talented chef and fly-fishing guide husband. Always busy, but never feeling like anything gets finished, especially laundry. I love to read and write and laugh. There is never enough time in the day to have fun!

Sarah D

Sarah was born and raised on the East Coast, but truly has found her home in the North Bay. Sarah and her family spend a lot of time exploring the outdoors, working in their garden and on their house, playing in the creek, and cooking and eating tasty vegetarian food.

Sarah K

Sarah is a wife, a mother, a middle school teacher, and a photographer.  She is a mama to her fournado son and her feisty year-and-a-half year old daughter. As an only child, she is still navigating the complications of raising siblings.  Sarah grew up in Solano County but migrated to Napa when she married her Oklahoma-born winemaker husband. She loves crisp white wine, cool Napa nights, and frolicking outside. The family, even the tiny humans, loves hiking on the Sonoma County coast, adventuring in neighborhood parks, and munching on Bouchon pastries.

Shannon is a homeschooling, breastfeeding, lightsaber wielding, backyard farmer, and mother of two daughters in east Santa Rosa. She can often be found in her pajamas watching Pixar films and crafting. She blogs about parenting, life and her effort to raise kids that care about making a difference in the world around them.

I grew up in Stockton, CA, but have lived in Santa Rosa for 10 years and don’t see myself leaving anytime soon.  I have two teenage daughters, a stepson, two kitties, and a wonderful life partner.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Business and currently working on my Master’s Degree.  I believe in higher education for our youth and I have a strong connection with my Native American and Filipino heritage.

Stephanie’s family of 3 is just what her life was designed for. She loves and lives in her husband’s hometown-Middletown-a town with a population smaller than her high school (Rancho). They have a beautiful and bold 5 year old that keeps them on their toes. They own and operate a Whole Body Cryotherapy spa in Calistoga, CA. Outside of being a small business owner, she’s a blogger and fitness instructor, while her husband loves to coach basketball. They are busy with lake playdates, only-child living, and rebuilding their home after the Valley Fire. Life gets hectic in the Diehl household, but their busy lives and positive outlook keeps them going. They are blessed with the life they live, and are getting to be more excited for what’s ahead, be it a new home, kindergarten, growing their business, and whatever else they can fit in.
