2017 Guide to Oktoberfests and Fall Beer Festivals in Wine Country

If you’re more into brews than wines, don’t worry – there’s plenty to do in Wine Country this year! Grab your leiderhosen and your favorite pint glass because Oktoberfest is just around the corner! Many of our beloved cities are getting in on the fun, and there’s plenty of Oktoberfests and great events to choose from. Oktoberfests

Oktoberfest at Schug Winery

Saturday, September 30th

602 Bonneau Road, Sonoma CA 95476
 
11 a.m – 3:30 p.m. | Bring your family and celebrate Oktoberfest Wine Country style! Enjoy LIVE music and authentic German food served in the party tent overlooking the vineyards of Carneros. We will be serving Federweisser (newly fermenting white wine from the barrel), Zwiebelkuchen (traditional German onion tart), various German dishes, and current release Carneros wines. There will be fun for the whole family including a bean bag toss, photobooth, cork crafts, raffles, free German lessons, and unlimited pretzels!
$50/person; $40 for Club Members; $10 for kids 12 and up; Free for kids under 12.

 

Sonoma Valley Oktoberfest

Saturday, October 7th

453 1st Street E, Sonoma CA 95476

12 p.m. – 9 p.m. | Eat, drink, and be merry at the 3rd Annual Sonoma Valley Oktoberfest, held in the Historic Sonoma Plaza. Shake your tail while listening to live music by Loosely Covered, or sit on a hay bale. Either way, it’s a great way to spend a sunny fall day in the town of Sonoma. Enjoy micro-brews from more than 10 Sonoma and Napa breweries at the BeerFest from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. before participating in the Cornhole Tournament from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Kids will have a blast at the video game truck, climbing wall, and dunk tank while parents can sample craft beers, festival food, and a beer-garden featuring Sonoma and Napa micro-brews.
Tickets range in price from $10 – $50.

Oktoberfest at CIA Copia

Saturday, October 14th

500 First Street, Napa CA 94559

12 p.m. – 5 p.m. | Join us for our first annual Oktoberfest at CIA Copia, an all-day festival showcasing local breweries, German wines, traditional German fare, and a live oom-pah band – Polkageist West. The event will take place throughout the entire CIA at Copia: culinary gardens, atrium (aka bierhaus!), and outdoor amphitheater. Bring the family, enjoy some traditional eats and drinks, and soak up the oom-pah-pah music, as we celebrate the end of harvest in Napa Valley.
Admission is free for all ages. Basic and VIP packages sold in advance include a combination of beverage tickets, food tickets, and souvenir cups. Individual beverage and food tickets are available for same day purchases.

 

Funkendank Oktoberfest

Saturday, October 21st

3 p.m. – 11 p.m. | On October 21st, SOMO Concerts releases their season finalé of this year’s pop-up festival season: the second annual Fϋnkendänk Oktoberfest Beer and Music Festival. This Sonoma County celebration fuses the unique convergence point of quality Craft Beer and outstanding Live Music. Blending the inviting experiences of HopMonk Tavern Beer Gardens with a select brewery offering curated by Sonoma County craft beverage expert Nickolas ‘Fridge’ Garson, this is a celebration where the nation’s top brewers focus their take on funky sours and danky, hop-forward ales. Traditional European lagers, served unfiltered from wooden kegs in the Oktoberfest beer garden, will also be offered. Again, this year, four hours of quality music will be produced and presented by Second Octave and Notable Talent.
This event is strictly 21 and over. Tickets range in price from $39 – $140.

Beer Festivals

Calistoga Inn Annual Bier Fest

Sunday, October 1st

1250 Lincoln Avenue, Calistoga CA 94515

4 p.m. – 8 p.m. | Come celebrate the end of harvest and 30 years of the Napa Valley Brewing Company. Enjoy live music by Americano Social Club, amazing food, and hand-crafted beer.
This event is strictly 21 and over.  Tickets $40/person.

 

Lagunitas Beer Circus

Saturday, October 21st 

175 Fairgrounds Drive, Petaluma CA 94952

12 p.m. – 5 p.m. | Join us at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma for an afternoon of beer, food, and fun. Two stages of entertainment will provide performances from All Star bands, collaborations between national and local acts, burlesque, side show acts, aerialists, and many more. Enjoy beers from Lagunitas, including a first pour of delicious libations from Lagunitas Brewing Company, as well as access to many food trucks and beer from guest breweries. There will also be carnival games, face painters, and a costume contest with prizes!
This event is strictly 21 and over. Tickets $40/person.
