Rohnert Park/Cotati Neighborhood Group Events

March 9th 12 p.m. Reading is a Picnic, Playdate: Bring a blanket and a bag lunch and come join us at noon for a grass picnic at the library. There is plenty of space for the kids to run around and burn off some energy. We will plan to meet up by the “big rock” around noon. You can’t miss us! Learn More by joining the Group!

Food and Fun, Mom’s Night Out: Time for another Mom’s Night Out! Leave those kiddos at home and come out for a night of fun. And this one is a two parter, so you can choose what you are up for in terms of time. Part One: Meet at Amy’s Drive Thru  (or for my more meat minded ladies In-n-Out is right next door) for some yummy food. We need that energy for part two! Part Two: Miniature Golf! March 4th: Children’s Theatre Weekend Playdate: This is a great opportunity for kids of all ages to check out live theatre! It’s 40 minutes and only $5, so not a huge risk to test out the waters. The show starts at 1pm. We can meet a little earlier to pick up will call tickets and find one another. Learn More

Windsor Neighborhood Group Events

March 12: Drinks & Bites at Sonoma Cider: Anyone love cider? Join us for for a pint of cider at Sonoma Cider located just a block south of Healdsburg Square. They have a spacious taproom and are pouring over 16 unique ciders. Sonoma Cider also has lots of small bites like housemade pickles, wings and my FAVORITE California Burrata. Public Events You Might Just Love!

March 1st,

6 a.m. Sunrise Seekers Rise and shine with an invigorating, fast-paced hike on the first Wednesday of each month. This month at Helen Putnam Regional Park we’ll hike 5 miles through rolling grasslands and majestic oaks to an outlook for 360-degree views. To celebrate Regional Parks’ 50th anniversary, we will hike 50 miles throughout the year to catch sunrises from Sonoma County’s most prominent vistas. Learn More

6:30 p.m. Mom’s Night Out at Rebounderz: Join us for a jumping good time at Rebounderz in Rohnert Park!! Our own fabulous instructor Jordan will be lighting up Mom’s Night Out with a private Air X class just for us. The class will be $10 and includes socks. This is seriously SO fun, and a great workout, you don’t want to miss it!! Learn More

5:30 p.m. Settle Down at Sundown Busy week? Feeling tense? Come unwind and immerse yourself in nature along the Coastal Prairie Trail. Enjoy a unique park experience with park interpretive staff and guests that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and grounded. Join us for a series focusing on outdoor wellness and relaxation exercises like meditation walks, journaling, stretching, and deep breathing at twilight. Free. Learn More

March 3rd

10 a.m. Trails for Tots Join us at Cloverdale River Park for a morning full of fun and learning outdoors at this bilingual program designed for children ages 3-4 and their parent(s)/guardian. We will read stories, sing songs, go on a short walk, and do crafts all with a nature theme. Dress for the weather, wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring water and a snack. Free. Learn More

7 p.m. First Friday at the Planetarium These shows will be the only shows given on these first Friday weekends. Show content will vary with emphasis on the stars, constellations, planets, and other interesting facts in or about the sky that night. Although admission is free, donations to support SRJC’s Planetarium are gratefully appreciated. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis; so arrive early enough to pick up your free parking permit, return it to your vehicle, and arrive back in the planetarium by the scheduled show start time! 8:30 a.m. Insane Inflateables 5k: The Insane Inflatable 5K is coming to Santa Rosa! Get ready to experience the most fun, wild and insane obstacle run in the world. Get “pumped up” for a course filled with the world’s largest and most extreme inflatable obstacles ever produced. Here’s your chance to be a kid at heart, and insane by choice! Learn More

11:00 a.m.- 12:00 a.m. Tide Pool Talk at Doran Beach Join a ranger for hands-on creature fun exploring the animals found in our local tide pools at Doran Regional Park. This is a family friendly event for all ages to explore what lives in the Pacific Ocean. Meet the first Saturday of each month at the amphitheater behind the Jetty Campground restrooms. 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown Cast Day:  Celebrate the 50th anniversary of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. At 11:00 am join the cast from the Pacifica Spindrift Players for songs from the musical. Performers from the Roustabout Theater will sing “My New Philosophy” and “The Kite” at 1:30 and 2:30 pm. Also, meet Snoopy and Charlie Brown for photos from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. The day will conclude with a 3:30 pm airing of the 1985 animated version of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Learn More

10 a.m. Life Under a Log: Can you imagine living under a dark, damp fallen tree? Who would your neighbors be? Get up-close and personal with these critters while investigating this micro-habitat at Wohler Bridge. Interactive stories and games included for children ages 5-12 accompanied by an adult. Free. 1 p.m. Storytime Join Rapunzel and her special friend TBA for another fun storytime with singing, dancing and pictures! Learn More

7 p.m. Star Party at Robert Ferguson Observatory (Sugarloaf) Presentations on astronomical topics are given in the classroom throughout the course of the evening. Starting at dusk, the Observatory’s three main telescopes are open for your viewing. Docents set up additional telescopes in front of the building. 9 a.m. Arbor Day Tree Planting Party: Come celebrate Arbor Day and plant trees in and around Juilliard Park in downtown Santa Rosa. Learn about trees and why they are good for our urban and natural environments. After the tree planting, cake will be served to honor Luther Burbank’s birthday. 9 a.m. Walk on the Wild Side: Explore all things wild during this monthly guided hike series for families and independent nature lovers alike. We’ll be at Tolay Lake Regional Park for this 3-mile, flat-terrain hike, and observe many migratory bird species resting and overwintering at Tolay Lake. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. 9:30 a.m. Family Ride at Spring Lake: We had such a great turnout for our last event that we’re doing it again! We will meet at the upper parking lot in Howarth Park by the merry-go-round. All ages are welcome! We will be on the spring lake path, which is perfect for beginners! Helmets are required. There will be post ride refreshments and donuts at Breakaway Bike Shop. Learn More

10:00 a.m. Wine Country Running Event 2017  Feet Feet Santa Rosa presents the second annual Wine Country Running Event on Saturday, March 11th, 2017 at the Finely Community Center. This premier event is designed to bring the running community together with top running vendors, professional athletes, local race directors, guest speakers and sports medicine clinics. This will be an incredible expo for runners of all categories to learn more about the sport and network. Learn More

3:00 p.m. 2017 St. Patrick’s Day 5K: Run. Walk. ShamROCK! Back for it’s sixth year and starting and ending in a NEW LOCATION at Finley Community Park (2060 West College Avenue)! This 5K chip-timed race is open to all ages and abilities and participants receive a commemorative stainless steel mug at the finish line! The post run celebration includes a little leprechaun dash just for the kids 5 and under (NEW THIS YEAR!), a judged costume contest, fun activities, sponsor giveaways and music. 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Museum Mondays at Schulz Museum Enjoy stories, arts and craft activities, and movement games for children ages 1-5 and their caregivers. Museum Mondays revolve around a new theme each month. This Monday, have your own adventure on the high seas by digging for treasure in our sensory tub and designing a pirate ship that really floats. Also decorate a captain-worthy hook hand and telescope! Museum Mondays are held EVERY Monday from October – February and on the LAST Monday of every month from March – September. $5 per child.
