10 Creative Ways to Decorate Easter Eggs This Year

Y’all, can you believe Easter is here already? Say whaat? Yea, really it’s time to break out the hard boiled eggs and get a little crafty. I won’t sugar coat anything here, I’m a complete PAAS kind of mom. I typically buy when they go on clearance from the previous year, then let them sit in the “Easter” tub out in the garage. So they aren’t the “freshest” little dye tablets, but you all know me. I’ll get something done, but I work best under pressure. Therefore, that means we are usually dyeing Easter eggs at 8:15pm Saturday night. Why? Because I don’t want dyed Easter eggs sitting in our fridge for days on end because nobody wants to eat “those ones.” C’mon, you know what I’m talking about. Haha!

Okay, so here I am Clearance Mama because I don’t feel that $4.99 per box is even right to sell 5 little tablets that you are going to dissolve into vinegar, of all things. It’s literally like watching your money go down the drain. Am I the only one that feels this way? Oh, that’s right. I need to embrace this time with my children and having fun. Let’s be real, my heart rate goes up before I’ve even thought about opening the PAAS box. It skyrockets once the newspaper hits the table to cover up whatever is about to ensue over the next hour with five kids.

So maybe I should take on something a little more simple. Perhaps having cups of colored vinegar all over the table isn’t the route I should take with so many kids. This is what inspired me to go on the hunt for some creative ways to get our Easter decorating underway. Check out some of the amazing ways our friends around the web are documenting their egg decorating skills.

Below you’ll find 10 different ways to dye Easter eggs, from Kool-Aid to shaving cream, and everything in between. Have you tried any of these? Which ones look fun and you might consider this year?
