We are extremely excited to announce Bloom, for new & expecting parents at the American Canyon Library! We will host this intimate event on the patio and conference room to welcome expecting {and new} moms in Napa, American Canyon, Fairfield, and Vallejo. Guests will enjoy our first annual new and expectant parent event. Wine Country mamas can expect swag, giveaways, a gorgeous build your own brunch, speakers, and all the usual fun we have at our events! At Bloom you will hear from all the amazing baby experts and will be able to ask questions, do some shopping, and mingle with other mamas in Wine Country!

Emily has been working with infants and children for over 15 years – as a preschool teacher, an autism intervention counselor, a pediatric nurse, and a behavioral researcher. After earning her PhD in Developmental Psychology, she started Little Nest Postpartum Services to support infant development organically, by helping new families have the best start possible.  Little Nest offers Fourth Trimester Planning, Postpartum Doula Support, and expert Newborn/Infant Care.

Anne Dunlea, Ph.D.

Dr. Dunlea is the Founding Director of Insights For Parents, an online resource that supports the growth and well being of both children and parents.  She is a Developmental Scientist with degrees in psychology and linguistics from the University of London (MA) and the University of Southern California (Ph.D.), plus post-doctoral work at the Max-Planck-Institute.  She was on the faculty at the University of Southern California for 18 years and is now at U C Davis.  Dr. Dunlea is a published author and has had research support from the National Science Foundation, the Spencer Foundation, The March of Dimes, and others.  She has served as a consultant on children’s programming for PBS and has appeared as an on air expert for both ABC and NBC, as well as local television and radio. She is deeply committed to making academic knowledge meaningful and accessible, and has advised parents, physicians, and broadcasters for nearly 30 years.

A long time meditator,  Dr. Dunlea also teaches meditation and other practices.  She first studied in the Yoga tradition with Swami Satchidananda then began to study the Dharma at the London Buddhist Community in Knightsbridge, England.  Above all, she is a mother and her greatest joy is the profound awe of watching and guiding her two daughters as they blossom — one now in high school, the other in college.

Dr. Scarborough, a board certified OBGYN, enjoys working with the da Vinci Robot doing minimally invasive surgery. He believes in teamwork between the patient and providers of care, taking pride in his ability to listen to patients and help them resolve their problems. He uses natural remedies when possible, and enjoys caring for high-risk and low-risk pregnancies. “It is an honor to be present for the miracle of birth.”
