January Looks Like a Lot of Fun!

Are you ready for 2018? Because 2018 is SO SO ready for you. 2018 is ready for recovery, for hope, and for community. Check out the amazing events local friends and businesses have put together to make your January fun and restorative. 

Jan 1st- New Year's at Breathless

Join us as we ring in 2018 (The Year of the Dog) at Breathless Wines! We’ll be celebrating in style on New Year’s Day with tasty bubbly paired with appetizers, Tarot Card reading to see into your fabulous 2018, and we’ll have treats and water for that special pooch in your life!This is a free event and includes a glass of sparkling wine, appetizers and a tarot reading (The Tarot Readings will be conducted between 1-3 p.m., please call ahead and reserve a spot) . We’ll also have some terrific wine specials: 40% off select wines (35% off online purchases for our out of area friends).

Jan 1st- New Year's Brunch at FARM

On New Year’s Day, FARM invites guests to enjoy their first meal of the year with a decadent brunch. From 10:00am to 4:00pm on Monday, January 1st, guests can continue the celebrations with bubbly, oysters, caviar, and four family-style courses.

Jan 1st- Skate Rink at Cornerstone

Join us on the ice at Cornerstone this holiday season! Our ice rink is open Thanksgiving Weekend through the New Year. We’re spreading the cheer and bringing the holiday magic to Sonoma. Help us do some good! Ice rink profits to benefit fire victims and relief efforts via Redwood Credit Union’s North Bay Fire Relief Fund.

Jan 1st- New Year's Day "First Day" Hike

Ring in the new year outside! Stewards will be leading a FREE “First Day” hike at Armstrong Redwoods on New Year’s Day, from 10 am – 12 pm. See majestic coast redwood and Douglas fir trees, banana slugs, deer, sword ferns and other redwood understory plants.

Jan 2nd- Animal Music

What a fun way to start the New Year with your baby or pre-schooler! Come to the Rohnert Park-Cotati Library with your 0- to 5-year old and boogie along with Animal Music. Get ready to sing, dance and have a great time with Farmer Arann, Miss Dragonfly, and Miss Heidi.  This event is FREE and there is no registration required.

Jan 3rd- Walk-in Wednesday Open Community Day on the Farm

Once a month, the ranch is open for the public to stroll in, visit the garden, relax in the grove, see the animals and enjoy an afternoon on the farm! During our open community day, Connolly Ranch welcomes old friends to visit and new friends to discover us for the first time. Walk-in Wednesdays are held the first Wednesday of every month from 2-4 pm in the winter, and from 3-5 pm in the spring, summer and fall. This event is free but there is a $5 suggested donation to help us keep it going.

Jan 3rd- Crybaby Matinee

#CRYBABYMATINEE is a movie for YOU in a baby friendly environment. Enter a judge free zone where babies can be babies and you can enjoy the latest film in the company of other parents who “get it”. We provide a comfortable theater environment for you and your little one. We keep the lights dimmed and the sound volume down so you can relax and enjoy a movie without worrying about unexpected tantrums or feedings in the dark🍼. Every Wednesday pack up the little ones and head to the theater! Admission is $8.50 for adults and children under 5 get in free! 

Jan 3rd- Free PiYo Class

Join us for a rare opportunity to test-drive a new program to Rohnert Park – PiYo! Sculpt and tone muscle, increase flexibility, and explore cardio with this low impact, high-intensity yoga and Pilates inspired fitness format! This class features small sections of cardiovascular work and strength training, incorporates balance and some dance

Lady’s only shoot night. Come shoot your bow and socialize with your fellow female archers. Not a competition, just friendly fun. Just a $10 drop in free without membership.

Jan 8th- Museum Mondays for Littles

Enjoy stories, arts and craft activities, and movement games Mondays at the Museum. Activities are designed for children ages 1– 5 and their caregivers. Museum Mondays are held EVERY Monday from October – February and on the LAST Monday of every month from March – September. Cost: $5 per child; free for those displaced by fires. Up to 2 adults per child are free before 11:00 am. After 11:00 am, regular Museum admission applies.

Jan 13th- Napa Moms Annual Pre-school & Kindergarten Expo

To show our appreciation and to thank our local friends for the many years of support, we invite you to join us on Napa Neighbor Day. Celebrate our community and let our wine educators guide you through our iconic wines set against a gorgeous backdrop of historic estate vineyards and the Stags Leap Palisades. Enjoy a complimentary Estate Collection Tasting Flight (one per Napa resident).

Jan 13th- A Special Invitation: Napa Neighbor Day

This one-of-a-kind event is where parents meet directors, teachers and administrators from dozens of Preschools & Kindergarten programs (public and private) all in one day. Many local businesses and service organizations that are focused on families in Napa Valley participate in this trade show like experience – dance and music classes, childcare, college planning, health & wellness, and much more.

Jan 13th- Push, Pull, Crash for Kids

For ages 4-12: The Sonoma County Library and Bay Area Discovery Museum present Push, Pull, Crash! Scientists experiment with push and pull to cause and avoid collisions, create art, and engage in exploration of the powers of force and friction.

Jan 14th- Second Sunday Family Fun Series

Join us once again for FREE family fun at the Community Center! We’ll have a free concert with Country Artist Danny Click, as well as food (Keith’s BBQ Beast), beer and wine sales, face painting, kids crafts, and LOTS of toys and games.

Jan 13th- Harry Potter Skate Night

Friday January 5, 2018 join us for Harry Potter Skate Night 7:30-11:00pm. Muggles $9 admission. Costumed Wizards/Witches $7 admission. Skate rental $5. Costume Contest and Trivia with prizes. Selling non-alcoholic Butter Beer and Polyjuice Potion Punch in the snack bar. Like and share and invite your Muggle and Wizard friends alike, all are welcome.

Jan 13-14th Winter Wineland

Join us for two glorious days along Wine Road – Northern Sonoma County as we celebrate the 26th Annual Winter WINEland! A great opportunity to meet winemakers, taste limited production wines, new releases or library wines. All participating wineries will highlight a Vintage, Varietal or Vertical tasting for the weekend. Our details program will be available in mid December.

Jan 16th- Sonoma County Babywearing Meeting @The Luma Center

Join us for a babywearing meeting! Bring your own carriers and get help using them or try something new from our library! All caregivers and family members are welcome!

Jan 21st- Clover Sonoma Family Fun Series: Golden Dragon Acrobats
