It looks like it’s going to be a gorgeous Spring season in Wine Country! Days full of flowers blooming, bees buzzing, and some perfect sunny days to soak in the beautiful weather. In that spirit, check out these fun events around Sonoma and Napa to enjoy with your family in April.

:Bodega Bay:

45th Annual Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Festival

April 14 & 15, 2018

The Bodega Bay community will host its 45th Annual Fisherman’s Festival. The Festival is packed with events for people of all ages: craft booths, live music, good food, entertainment, and more. A favorite attraction is the wine tasting booth featuring more than 25 Sonoma County wines and a beer booth with several local ales. Plus, we have something for every palate from barbecued oysters, local fish ‘n chips, clam chowder, and a variety of food trucks. Live music and entertainers perform on the main stage all day Saturday and Sunday. Artisans and vendors from all over California and beyond offer a wide selection of arts and crafts.

Save the Redwoods Curated Hikes at Bothe Napa Valley State Park

The Napa Open Space District congratulates the Save the Redwoods league on celebrating 100 years of protecting redwood forests. Join the festivities with free park passes (go to standfortheredwoods.org for your pass) to Bothe Napa Valley State Park on the second Saturday of each month throughout 2018 and take part in curated hikes!

Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition Family Bicyling Workshop – Free!

April 7, 2018

Join the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition’s certified safety instructors for a fun and FREE workshop for parents and their kids! Children must be able to ride a bike and be ready to take the road with their parents (recommended age 7 & up, no training wheels). The first half of the workshop takes place on a blacktop where both parents and kids receive instruction and practice skill/safety drills; and the second half is a supervised, instructional family bicycle ride. Please bring a functional bicycle and helmet. Participants who complete the workshop receive a free blinky light!

Come paint with family and friends! This family-friendly version of “wine and canvas” type events is now a regular event available as both a public or private event at Shuffle’s Magical Ice Cream Shoppe! Our in-house artist, Clementine, of Clementine the Amazing Face-painting, will guide participants to create beautiful and unique original art pieces, no experience required. Girl Scout Day – Snoopy & Friends: Charles Schulz Museum

April 8, 2018

Learn about Snoopy and his live animal friends at the Schulz Museum. You’ll meet companion dogs, rescue dogs, and even some wild animals. You’ll also get the chance to build an animal home and make a toy for pets, all in support of the Girl Scout Animals Badge. Daisies will start on their “3 Cheers for Animals” Journey, Brownies will work on their “Pets Badge” requirements, Juniors will work toward their “Animal Habitats” Badge, and Cadettes will work on their “Animal Helpers” Badge. Round out the day with some ice skating spins at Snoopy’s Home Ice rink and a Schulz Museum fun patch! Teen Art Lounge – Art Escape

Each month a different project idea is introduced for participants wanting to learn a new technique or seeking a starting place for inspiration. Teens can also work on their own projects with Art Escape instructors as consultants.Participants learn the art-making process and skills that are transferable to other life situations: flexibility, perseverance, using constructive feedback, time management, and that “happy accidents” can result in unforeseen avenues.
