2017 Season of Giving Project: Adopt a Family for the Holidays

Prior to the wine country wildfires, our team discussed adopting a family, as a team, and providing them with the means and resources to have a wonderful holiday season. And then our world shifted. We know there is more need than we can possibly address as a small business, but we’d like to try to help a little. The families we are giving to this year are families who lost everything, and had little time to save anything from their home.

ABOUT THIS GIVING PROJECT

We asked our team members for personal references to families in need, and compiled a list of goods, not based on what we want to give them, but based on actual need. Some people need a tree and ornaments, some people aren’t sure where home is yet, and need more practical items. Each family in our giving program is provided some much deserved privacy. Our team members are collecting these items and distributing the gifts.

HOW TO GIVE

There are two ways to give:

  1. Buy something online from our Amazon wish-list
  2. Buy something in person, and fill out the form at the bottom of this list.

Some families have asked for items that are not on the Amazon wish list, and for that reason, we also have a form AT THE BOTTOM of this page. If you would like to purchase something that is NOT on the amazon wish list, simply fill out the form and we will be in contact with you. We urge off-Amazon donors to look at the list of items the families provided, and include what you’d like to give them in the form. All gifts from Amazon will be shipped to our HQ, and our team will distribute the gifts to the families.

Dasher Family

Mom, Dad, and two daughters (9 & 6)

Both parents are educators and are constantly giving to others. They lost their home in Coffey Park and are starting over.

We love going to the snow and all of us are skiers, but lost all of our snow gear so that would be a good gift. Warm boots for the girls (size 2 and 11.5), ski goggles or helmets. One of our daughters loves the OG doll accessories from Target – she specifically asked for the ones with food :). Our other daughter loves to read books or books on her kindle (one of the few things we grabbed as we evacuated!!). The girls asked for rollerblades/roller skates. We all miss our yoga mats too.

Prancer Family

Kid’s Christmas lists include razor scooters, pogo sticks, drifter bikes, Xbox, Nintendo 3DS, Disney classic princess movies, slime kits. Mom and Dad wish for a gift card to go out to eat or stay somewhere overnight ALONE…lol.

Hello, Is it too late from my son and I to be apart of your program? We were located in Coffey Park. We relocated to an emergency apartment in Rohnert Park. I’m a single mom and limited to Christmas cheer for my son.
    Thanks you.

This is a very thoughtful thing to do for those who have lost their homes due to the horrific fires. I have a question. How will you know if I purchase an item from the Amazon gift list? I noticed a few items have already been purchased from the list. Thank you again for organizing the gift giving.

Hi Sandy! You can actually select to view “unpurchased” items on the amazon list. It should be on the upper right hand side of the list.

I purchased a few items via Amazon. I also purchased Christmas lights from a local store. How do I get the lights to you, which I think today is the deadline date. Thank you!

Thank you for organizing this special Holiday drive to help out the fire victims, what a great idea. I just purchased a $100 Safeway giftcard. We are so grateful we can help out a local family so they can purchase a special holiday meal to share with friends and family as that is truly what the Holidays are all about. God Bless. #SonomaStrong.
