April Fool’s Day Pranks {3 Simple Treats to Fool Your Kids}

Who says April Fool’s Day is just for kids? Show your little pranksters that you’ve got a joke or two up your mom sleeve on April 1st with one of these everyday-treats-turned-tricky. They’re simple and fun, and you’re guaranteed a few giggles!

And remember – after you get a good mom chuckle when your April Fool’s Day joke succeeds with bummed out, pranked kids, be sure to whip out the real treat that’s been hidden away after a big, fat “April Fool’s!”

#1 :: Silly Stuffed Oreos

Swap that fluffy cream out with a little toothpaste, and these silly stuffed Oreos will leave your kids with a minty, disgusted look!

{What You’ll Need}

  • Oreo cookies
  • Knife for scraping
  • White toothpaste


  1. Open an Oreo by twisting the two cookie pieces in opposite directions.
  2. Remove the cream filling from the inside of the Oreo by scraping it off with a knife.
  3. Squeeze a large dollop of white toothpaste in the middle of one cookie piece.
  4. Take the other cookie piece and sandwich it on top of the toothpaste covered cookie.


#2 :: Brown Ee’s

This couldn’t be easier…seriously! Here’s a simple twist on the chocolaty treat from “brownies” to “brown Ee’s”. Throw some capital and lowercase Ee’s on some paper, and wa-la…you’ve got a hilarious treat that’s sure to fool your kids!

{What You’ll Need}

  • Paper
  • Brown marker or crayon
  • Baking dish covered in aluminum foil


  1. Use a brown marker or crayon to write the letter Ee all over a piece of paper.
  2. Put the piece of paper in the baking dish and cover it with aluminum foil.
  3. Tell your kiddos there are some “brown Ee’s” in the baking dish.


#3 :: Ice + Cream

This twisted treat is sure to leave a few stunned (and possibly disappointed) faces at the table! It’s a literal take on the cold, classic dessert – just a little ice and cream!

{What You’ll Need}

  • Bowl
  • Ice cubes
  • Cream (such as whipping cream or coffee creamer)


  1. Place the ice cubes in a bowl.
  2. Pour the cream over the top of the ice cubes and serve.
