Growing up in Petaluma, my friends and I would walk downtown after school to browse our favorite stores or read excerpts from the latest book releases at Copperfield’s. In high school, we were commonly seen drinking chai lattes before heading out for the night. I’ve seen the “Egg Capital of the World” evolve from a sleepy, antique-loving town to a premiere destination for foodies and free spirits, where visitors drink the best microbrews while listening to local bands. Despite the city’s growth in popularity, Petaluma maintains it’s character and versatility. From music and beauty stores like Tall Toad and Blush to our beloved Petaluma Market, you can still find everything you need downtown. And as a wannabe fashionista, I’m drawn to unique items not found in popular department stores. So I shop with confidence that I can find an outfit for any occasion amongst our fantastic Petaluma boutiques.
5 Fabulous Petaluma Boutiques For Every Style
126 Kentucky Street, Petaluma CA 94952
A Kentucky Street staple for over twenty years, Stink was originally established to provide local women with a place to find contemporary brands and fashion right in the heart of downtown Petaluma. With brands like Michael Stars, Sanctuary, and LAmade, you’ll find comfortable, high-quality clothes that will last a lifetime. Literally. I still have the same pair of Hard Tail pants that have taken me from staying cozy during my high school Senior Retreat to late-night studying in medical school to maternity leave of both my children! And keep an eye out on what Amy G is wearing while reporting at the San Francisco Giants home games. She’s often wearing an outfit found at Stink!

If you’re looking for on-trend, affordable clothing, you’ll find it at Charlee’s. Each time I visit, I’m drawn to the well-coordinated color schemes throughout the store. And I’m not going to lie – I almost never leave without a new blush item or floral romper to add to my closet. I’m also a huge fan of their fun selection of graphic tees and tanks, which have me “Feelin’ Rose” and craving “Champagne and Cupcakes.”
Did You Know? They now have a store in Windsor! Women in the northern parts of Sonoma County can find the same styles and selection at 9077 Windsor Road.
Splendid Little Shoppe

I love this store’s vintage, California dreamin’ style. Whether you’re lounging at home or dancing the night away at a music festival, each piece embodies a sense of femininity and comfort. You’ll find flowing maxis and chic jumpsuits to pair with the trendiest purses of the season. My favorites are their casual tops with the subtlest details that add a little edge to a simple tee.

I’ve been driving past this beautifully remodeled building for almost a year and initially thought it was a spa. So it’s no surprise when you enter this cozy boutique that you’ll feel relaxed and welcomed, as if you’ve arrived to your own personalized shopping experience. With exceptional brands like Monrow, Cami NYC, Sundry, and Beek, you’re sure to find an outfit perfect for a park playdate with your kids or a wine-tasting adventure with your girlfriends. And let me tell you, Beaux is the ONLY local boutique that carries my current favorite handbag obsession, Clare V.
