It’s practically SUMMER! Time for pools, vacations, staying up late, less structured schedules, and (of course) wedding and graduation season. Throw in a few showers to attend while you’re at it, and you’ll be staring blankly into your closet trying to figure out what to wear. You’re busy shuttling kids to and from day camps, swim lessons, and keeping the fridge stocked with popsicles. You don’t have a lot of time to pick an outfit for your cousin’s wedding this weekend. That’s why I’ve compiled five foolproof (and multi-purpose) summer dress options that can be dressed up or down, depending on the function.
1. Go Light
In summer, you don’t want to be wearing heavy fabric. Comfort and ease are what I’m all about, not wearing fabric that doesn’t breathe. This cute floral summer dress is super adorable and very lightweight. Even better, it would pack well for travel.
2. Go Midi
One of my favorite trends is the midi dress. It’s very flattering, and you don’t have to worry about creeping hemlines while you cut a rug on the dance floor or sit in a super comfortable folding chair at graduation. Furthermore, this cute summer dress looks to be a real crowd (and wearer) pleaser.
3. Go Eyelet
Nothing says summer more than eyelet. It’s a classic summer dress style! I have this dress from last season and I’m happy to see its back this year. You can dress this bad boy up or down. Not to mention, flat slides or espradille wedges are the perfect shoe options.
4. Go Maxi
Who doesn’t love a maxi dress? Especially if you are just getting back into the habit of shaving your legs regularly. A maxi covers you up while also elevating your style because of the long skirt. Throw on a denim jacket to make it more casual. I’m loving this summer dress, and you can wear year after year. As a matter of fact, I really hope they come out with more color options.
5. Go Pantsuit
Not that kind of pantsuit. I’m talking about all of the new cute pantsuit options. Talk about being comfortable. This one is slimming, yet would also look super chic and trendy at any wedding or graduation. Additionally, if the weather gets chilly, a sweater or light jacket would easily keep you cozy.
